Q
When should I book my session?
A
Don’t wait, that’s our advice.
There may never be a tomorrow and waiting to shift a little weight or waiting to feel confident, may never happen.
Did you know, we’re good for a stone just in posing? Not that it should matter, but it may be reassuring to know that.
Confidence? That comes during and after your journey with us.
We’ve got you!
You can find out all about our shoots and collections here!
Q
Are you an all-female team?
A
We absolutely are.
On shoot day, you get Johanna all to yourself and your images are lovingly retouched by Rachel.
If you’re shooting at the studio, and have a makeup artist booked, we have a team to call upon!
We’re all girls together, all carefully handpicked – the best in the industry.
Q
When are your shoot days/times?
A
It’s often best to schedule your shoot on a calmer week day, to avoid the crowds.
So do try and schedule a day off work for your shoot.
For the best light, we also shoot either early or late in the day.
This also means we miss the heat in the summer months.
Shoots are rescheduled if the weather isn’t what we need.
Design consultations and reveal sessions can happen on an evening if that helps.
Q
How do your clients know how to pose? They look like models!
A
Thank you so much! We work very hard to ensure that every portrait has a touch of finesse.
Johanna will pose you down to your little finger, even pose your hair!
We know how stupidly awkward we suddenly become when a camera is pointed at us. “What should I do with my hands”?!
With 15 years experience, posing 8000 women, Johanna really knows what she’s doing, ensuring you look your absolute best!
Q
How long does the shoot last?
A
Usually 1-2 hours, depends where we’re shooting and the walking.
Johanna likes to be guided by you and your best friend’s comfort & ability.
It’s also best to ensure the springier pups have had a really good walk beforehand, to let off steam (avoiding the mud of course).
It’s a workout, so make sure you’ve nothing else planned for the day, pace yourself!
Q
What should I wear?
A
This is what your Design Consultation is about.
We can talk about where we’re shooting.
It’s great to think about colours and styles that you love and suit your personality.
Chatting through your wardrobe and planned outfit changes will ensure you feel 100% ready on the day!
Carefully creating a wish list on a Pinterest board is vital too, Johanna will walk you through every step of the way.
Q
How much retouching do you do?
A
As much as you’d like really.
We don’t change you into someone else though.
We create your portraits beautifully ‘in camera’ with gorgeous posing and flattering lighting, then they receive a final polish in post-processing.
Rachel can remove scars/blemishes and most tattoos on request, just ask.
Q
How will I select my chosen collection?
A
You will have your Reveal Session a minimum of 5 days after your big shoot day.
You can choose between ‘in house’ or via a Zoom online meeting.
We are absolutely happy with either for you!
We often book your Reveal Session at your design consultation so you know when this will be and can plan accordingly.
For your convenience, we do take PayPal Credit. Collection info can be found here!
Q
I’m across the country from you, are you happy to travel to me, if I’m not shooting at the studio?
A
Absolutely!
If it’s over 90 mins drive away, we do require overnight accommodation.
We charge for the nights either side of the shoot days, plus travel for Johanna.
If you’re joining us at the studio, we are lucky to have some very lovely hotels close by and Airbnb. Our area is a popular holiday destination!
Details can be provided on request.
