With age, we mature and grow into wonderful women, but even though we are older, wiser and more empowered than ever, it can still be easy to forget our true value.
When life takes a difficult turn, our confidence can be knocked, and our sense of self-worth may take a nosedive.
This is why I recently asked some of my wonderful clients to think about what they would say to their 18-year-old selves, to boost their confidence, if they had the chance.
The new ‘Note to Self’ Series
I’ve collated these words of wisdom into a ‘Note to Self’ e-book and, in this new blog series, I’ll be sharing the stories in the hope that they inspire you.
Since their teens, these women have lived, loved and learnt so much. I felt that we could all benefit from their experiences and advice.
In this edition, you’ll meet Sara.
Sara’s ‘Note to Self’…
Dear Sara,
You are now an adult with a good few years experience behind you. When you were younger you wanted to be older. Now, I just wish time would slow down.
If only you knew then what you know now. Hence me writing this letter.
Please always remember that you are worth so much more than you think you are. Your strength and resilience will be tested beyond anything you thought possible, but you will get through it.
Remember you are stronger than you think.
Please stop caring about what other people think about you and do what makes you happy.
Try and see yourself as the people who are close to you see you.
You will do an amazing photo shoot that will prove to you how beautiful you truly are. You will actually do two!! Yes, I’m telling you the truth.
You don’t know it now, but it will give you the confidence to carry on after a very tough time in your life.
When your loved ones tell you that you are beautiful, please believe them and gave faith in what they say.
Yes, you will make mistakes but each one will make you stronger and more determined. Never let people put you down and knock you or tell you that you are worthless.
Take control as only you can make your own path in the world.
Lastly, please, just love yourself and believe in yourself and be happy!
Thank you, Sara!
You’ve shared some incredibly wise words there! I really appreciate it.
I’m so pleased for you that you’ve now realised your inner strength and self-worth.
