What if lingerie or showing skin isn’t for you?
Short answer: it doesn’t have to be. Every shoot is designed around you.
Many women ask me if lingerie or skin showing is required when they’re drawn to the idea of a photoshoot, and they hesitate to take the next step.
If lingerie or showing skin doesn’t feel like you, I want you to know this straight away… it doesn’t have to be part of your shoot at all.
What my shoots are really about
At the heart of my work are beauty-led photos. They’re about connection, expression, and how you feel in front of the camera, not about fitting into a particular look or showing a certain amount of skin.
I show mostly boudoir style photos in my work as that’s 80% of what I create and what I’m best known for!
However, I’d say most clients, if planning for boudoir, also chose to have a few beauty photos created while they’re with me in the studio.
Some women love the idea of lingerie or something more revealing. Others feel most themselves when they’re fully clothed. What matters isn’t the outfit, but that what you’re wearing feels comfortable, natural, and true to you.
Photos can feel intimate, confident, and feminine no matter the clothing choice.
I find it’s being relaxed in gorgeous light, comfy guided poses, that creates the perfect photo.
Clothed can still be sensual
When people hear the word “boudoir”, they often picture lingerie. In reality, sensual photos can look many different ways.
For some women, that might be relaxed in satin pyjamas…
Bare feet in an off-the-shoulder jumper.
A favourite dress…
Or something with texture and movement like sequins!
These looks can feel relaxed, elegant, quietly confident. Some can be incredibly suggestive without revealing very much at all.
Clothing can add a sense of mystery. Sometimes it’s what’s not shown that makes an image feel even more powerful.
Your shoot is designed around you
I design every shoot with you. From our very first consultation, you are at the centre of it all.
We talk through how you want to feel, what you’re drawn to, and what feels comfortable for you. Together, we shape the look and feel of your shoot, using a mood board so you can really picture it before the day arrives.
That might mean beauty photos, something softly sensual but fully clothed, or a style that sits somewhere in between. There’s no template and no expectation.
Your shoot is built around you, not the other way round.
By the time you arrive on shoot day, you know what to expect, and you know it’s been designed pretty much by YOU!
Comfort always comes first
However you choose to dress, your comfort guides everything we do. Nothing is assumed, and nothing is rushed or pushed.
Feeling in control of the vision is vital.
If your ideas evolve as we plan your shoot, that’s absolutely fine. The process is collaborative, considered, and always led by what feels right for you.
