With age, we mature and grow into wonderful women, but even though we are older, wiser and more empowered than ever, it can still be easy to forget our true value.
When life takes a difficult turn, our confidence can be knocked, and our sense of self-worth may take a nosedive.
This is why I recently asked some of my wonderful clients to think about what they would say to their 18-year-old selves, to boost their confidence, if they had the chance.
The new ‘Note to Self’ Series
I’ve collated these words of wisdom into a ‘Note to Self’ e-book and, in this new blog series, I’ll be sharing the stories in the hope that they inspire you.
Since their teens, these ladies have lived, loved and learnt so much. I felt that we could all benefit from their experiences and advice.
In this edition, you’ll meet Helen.
Helen’s ‘Note to Self’…
Dear 18-year-old Helen,
Believe it or not, you are so much stronger than you know. You will discover this strength in the next 9 years and honestly, your life goes nowhere but up from where you are now.
You will love, you will live happily and you will discover that, actually, you’ve got a lot to show the world and a lot to give too.
Believe in yourself.
You can do great things if you just believe in your own ability.
Embrace your style.
You know… that one everyone called you weird for… because believe it or not your style is awesome and you will find your own little band of wonderful friends who embrace their style too.
My photoshoot actually helped me realise that I didn’t need to hunch and hide from cameras… i can have my own style and that having confidence in myself is the best was to take a great photo.
So, in short, 18-year-old me… believe in yourself and stop hiding – let people see and love who you are and never change for anyone
With Love,
27-year-old Helen
Thank you, Helen!
I’m so pleased you now feel confident in front of the camera, and that you’ve realised what makes you unique is also what is so special!
Thank you for sharing these brilliant tips with us!
