How important is the lingerie?
As you might have guessed, what you wear, how you style your hair, your makeup and how you pose all contribute to the overall look and play a part in the creation of your beautiful portraits.
Naturally, in your lingerie shoot, you’ll want to wear underwear that helps to make you look and feel amazing.
I believe that the right choice of lingerie is really important because if you look and feel ok, you’ll feel a little more ready on the day of your shoot.

Boudoir lingerie photoshoot considerations
1. Comfort
You’ll want to look confident in your boudoir lingerie and to achieve that, you’ll want to feel comfortable. So, when you’re deciding what lingerie to wear, think about going for an outfit that is form-fitted and feels good.
You’ll definitely want something that offers great support to your bust, lie down in the outfit and assess what happens!
To ensure you choose underwear that fits well, you’ll need to know what size you are. So, if you haven’t done it for a while, go and get your boobs measured. Knowing your size, and buying something that fits comfortably, is essential.

2. Colours
It’s also important that you think about the colours you would like to go for and if they will complement the theme of your shoot.
For example, you might want a look that is fresh, bright and soft—so you could go for pale-coloured, white or ivory lingerie.
On the other hand, you may want to go down the dark, sexy and sultry route, where you could opt for red, grey or black, for example.
Maybe go for both colour ways? Maybe a representation of your different sides?
3. What’s the most flattering for your body shape?
For those of us worried about our tummy area (99% of our ladies mention that), then corsets and basque-type outfits are a must for an underwear photoshoot.
Worried about your bottom? Show it off in curve hugging, big pants. You’ll feel more secure.

There are lots of beautiful options available online and on the high street that provide hidden support and help enhance your assets, boosting your confidence.
4. Details and finishes
Pretty underwear with lots of detail is flattering and really adds something to your final portraits. Add a beautiful, detailed lingerie gown and you’ll be feeling sensuous and rocking it before you even step into the studio.
Don’t forget that you also have the option of silk, lace or even leather lingerie. Pick something that suits your style and own your look!
5. Lingerie you love
Last but not least, we highly recommend that you only wear lingerie that you love.
Remember, this boudoir lingerie shoot is for you. Even if you’re going to be gifting a photo from your collection to your partner, it’s important to pick the type of lingerie that you will want to wear and feel good in.
